Best for: Elite players who want professional hockey + education backup

Division III

Academic Focus

Division III schools do not offer athletic scholarships; merit-based or need-based aid may be available
Elite liberal arts colleges
Strong academics + hockey balance
Admissions and financial-aid decisions are separate from hockey recruitment

Best for: Players who prioritize academics with competitive hockey

What NCAA Coaches Look For

On the Ice

*Play in MJHL or equivalent Junior A league
*Consistent performance over peak moments
*Hockey IQ and coachability

Off the Ice

*Minimum 2.3 GPA (3.0+ preferred)
*SAT/ACT scores required
*Character and professionalism
